The fabric flowers had velcro on the back to attach to the wreath.
I gifted that wreath to the director of the preschool after we used it to welcome parents to open house. The idea was, that later on, I could add more sets of interchangeable elements with velcro on the backs. Perfect for Christmas! SO, for this teacher gift, I created three more sets of five fabric and felt flowers.
For Spring...flowers in light blue, yellow, and pink, with light green leaves, and a blue felt bird.
For Summer...the set that was on the wreath originally (bright primary colors), with the addition of this cute little three-dimensional bee sticker that I mounted on trimmed cardstock, and hot glued to thin wire. This teacher's class is "The Busy Bees."
For Fall...orange, mustard, and mossy green, with a little spray of silk fall leaves and a felt stuffed pumpkin.
And for winter...white sparkle felt, ice blue fleece, polka dot ribbon and white tulle, and a snowflake ornament with a small pinecone and gossamer ribbon...
I didn't have time to make full wreaths for all the other teachers, so I came up with a smaller version - a ruler photo frame with seasonal/changeable accents in the corner. It was pretty easy to put together.
I cut my rulers with Hubby's handsaw at 7 1/8" and 3 1/8", two of each length, then hot glued them around an inexpensive 4x6 flat photo frame.
I hot glued a velcro dot in the upper right corner of the frame, where different flower/season accents could attach, and be switched out.
I also made 4x6 printables with the My Memories Suite software (see the blinky in the sidebar), that have a blue check background, with a notebook paper edge and staple on the left, and the teacher's name front and center.
THEN, the fun part, I made a fabric/felt/ribbon/button flower for each season. I added two skinny ribbons hanging down, one that held a flag with the season, and one that held a scrapbook sticker mounted on cardstock and trimmed out. I put them all together with hot glue. And on the back of each is the velcro dot. Easy peasy to attach!
On the BACKside of the frame, I put three more velcro dots for storing the other seasons.
Here is what it then looks like from the front...and it could be kept as a nameplate for the teacher's desk, or swapped for a photo!
Although I wasn't able to be there when they were opened, I already got sweet notes home from the elementary teachers about how much they liked them. I do think they turned out pretty cute...and they were so fun to do, I'm tempted to make some for my etsy shop : )
