After all that partying, are you guys ready for a treat? This is one of my favorite fall breakfasts.
But it's great for a snack or a party treat as well!

Cinnamon Donuts With Salted Caramel Glaze
Don't be scared, donuts are way easier than they look with this recipe.
I actually got the donut recipe from an old magazine. I wanted to snazz it up, so I picked up
a salted caramel glaze recipe from The Flour Sack for her amazing looking applesauce cake
and it was the perfect addition to the donuts!

For the Donuts
8 pack of flaky refrigerator biscuits
bottle of vegetable oil
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbsp cinnamon
First, pour the oil into a deep frying pan or soup pot. You may not need the whole bottle, but you need about an inch of oil in the pan. Heat the oil at less than medium heat (I put my burner on 4) and allow it to heat. This takes awhile. To test if it is ready, place the handle of a wooden spoon in the oil.
If it starts bubbling rapidly, it's ready.

While the oil is heating, cut your donuts. I use a small spice lid to cut out the centers of the biscuits.
When the oil is ready, drop the donuts in. I do four donuts and four holes at a time. When it is golden brown, (about 30-60 seconds) flip your donuts using tongs.
Cook for another 30-60 seconds and remove from pan. Place on a stack of paper towels to soak up the oil. Cook the rest of the donuts.
Once cooked, mix together the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Dip your donuts in the sugar mix.
Now for the glaze.
You will need
4 Tbsp butter, cut into cubes
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup cream
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Heat the butter, brown sugar, sugar, cream and salt on medium heat. Bring to a rolling boil and boil for one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Let the glaze cool a bit and then mix in powdered sugar a little at a time until it is thick but pourable.
Place the glaze in a ziplock and cut off a corner. Pour the glaze in a circle
around the donut or drizzle it back and forth over the donuts.
Serve with a glass of apple cider and enjoy!
These would be perfect for a Halloween gathering, too!
