worrying, listening to, wishing, observing, considering

CURRENTLY worrying... about the Jury Duty Summons that I got recently.  I hate stuff like that.  Many years in the past, I got excused from my first ever jury duty with a doctor's note about anxiety disorder.  Dark days, but I've come a LONG way since then.  After we moved to Georgia, I got summoned again, but managed to get out of it due to being the sole caretaker of young children.  I went in on jury day, but then filled out paperwork and was told that would cover me till my youngest was six.  I cannot even tell you how relieved I was!!  He's still four, so I'm not sure why I was on the list again already, but there it is.  I'm crossing my fingers that whatever it is gets settled and I won't have to go in.

CURRENTLY listening to... the Alt Nation station on Sirius. I spend a chunk of my day in the car - dropping three kids off at two different schools, on two different schedules...and then doing the whole thing again a few hours later to pick them up.  I started Instagramming my favorite songs that come on during my Mom's Taxi hours.  I like to look them up later on Pandora : )

CURRENTLY wishing... that our extended family was not so far away.  It's tough to only see the important people in your life once or twice a year.  The distance makes it impossible to visit more often than that.  We are making one of our regular treks North for Thanksgiving this year.  14 hours.  With three kids, who don't travel that well (sensory issues can be a nightmare).  I wish I could be looking forward to this, but honestly it's a killer of a trip.  If it wasn't SO far...gotta focus on all the hugs I'll get to share when we get there!

CURRENTLY observing... the beauty of autumn.  One thing about living in the South - there is a lot of sunshine.  And this time of year, that sun turns everything golden.  All week, as I do Mom's Taxi runs to drop kids off and pick them up again, I'm just in awe of how beautiful it is!  Really.  It takes my breath away to see the light shining through the trees as they turn color.  And every now and then as I'm walking through the living room, I see a scattering of shining leaves fall like snowflakes in our backwoods, and it stops me in my tracks.  One of my recent fall Instagram pics...

CURRENTLY considering... bangs.  Probably won't go there, but I've been thinking about it.  A regular haircut would do wonders by itself even without a big change like bangs.  I think my face isn't big enough for them, but I dunno.

CURRENTLY worrying... about Christmas.  Christmas is a bittersweet time for me.  Mostly, it's amazing.  I love everything about it.  But my love for it can be overwhelming at times.  Because one of my very favorite parts about Christmas is giving.  I love giving gifts.  But the act of giving can be very stressful.  Last year, I made almost all my gifts.  I worked so hard until literally the last second.  I was so happy with my gifts last year because of all the effort behind them, but it was also a very hard time for me.  Lots of stressing and crazy time.  So I am worried about that time again and wondering if I can do it all.

CURRENTLY listening to... As much as I would love to impress you guys with my cool, modern music choice, I can't.  See, when my oldest turned 5, he started singing some of the songs I was listening to on the radio.  There are a lot of lyrics out there that were a lot cuter coming out of a 3 year old's mouth then a 5 year old.  It was getting awkward.  So, now I mostly listen to our Kids XM radio station.  However, we are currently listening too a Halloween CD we won at our town's pumpkin festival.  If you want to have some Halloween music you know your kids will enjoy, go to www.munchkinradio.com.  They are currently playing Halloween music all day long off their website for free!  You too will be dancing the thriller dance with your kids!

CURRENTLY wishing... my 3 year old would potty train.  We've been working on it for over a year now.  When he turned 2, he happily started going #2 (yes, I used numbers!) in the potty with no problem.   But almost a year and a half later, he's still would rather wet himself then do anything about it.  We are close though.  I've been working on him this week.  But boy is he mad at me that I won't put his diaper back on.  And I am still cleaning up messes.

CURRENTLY observing... the Online BlogCon.  If you haven't heard of it, it's a conference that you attend online.  It happened this week and was pack full of tons of information about getting you blog going and improving.  It was a great way to learn a lot and meet tons of other bloggers.  My head is full of ideas and stuff to ponder.  In all, it was a great experience.

CURRENTLY considering... giving Downtown Abby a try again.  I'm embarrassed to say this, but I watched the first episode and was bored.  I know, I know!  I may be the only women ever to say that.  So, I am leaving the boards open to you.  Convince me to give it another try!  I want a reason and I know there's fans out there!

  1. Tiffany, don't be embarrassed that you don't watch Downton Abbey. I don't either. I did the same as you: I watched one episode, couldn't get into it and gave up. Every time I see it on Netflix, I think I should try again, but there are too many other things to watch that I can't bring myself to do it!

    1. Sandra, Oh thank goodness! People are finally coming out of the wood work to say they struggled with Downtown Abbey! Maybe we need to go for that second episode together. I really want to get what everyone sees in it!

  2. You MUST watch more Downton. It is absolutely the BEST show I've ever seen on television and radically different than anything else I watch. I can't even remember if it took me a couple episodes to get into, I'm so brainwashed by it's amazingness now. DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!

    1. Randalin maybe I'll give it another try this winter when all my shows go on hiatus. I'll let you know hat I think after a couple more episodes.

Your comments make my day! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! I enjoy responding personally to your comments, too. * I had been responding to comments via email, but so many were no-reply addresses that I have switched to making all replies right here on the blog. So I hope you'll come back and visit again : )
