Halloween Chocolate Bowls

Thursday, October 18, 2012
Guess what?  I have another fun, festive treat for you!

Halloween Chocolate Bowls

I came across these adorable chocolate bowls from Oh Party and
I instantly thought, how cute would they be for Halloween too!  So I gave it a go!

You Will Need
small balloons
white, orange and brown candy melts (I used chocolate chips for brown)
wax paper
butter or butter spray

Blow the balloons up to the size you want your bowls.  Butter them or spray with butter spray.

Melt the candy melts in 30 second intervals until they are fully melted and thin.

Place some wax paper on a cookie sheet and drop a dab of chocolate on it for the bowl's base.

When the chocolate is cool but still melty, put the balloon in the chocolate.
I tilted the bowl a bit, turning the balloon until it was covered.

Place the balloon on the chocolate base.

Put cookie sheet in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.  Melt the brown chocolate.
Using a lollipop stick or chopstick, carefully draw a face on your bowls.

Place the cookie sheet in the freezer this time for at least a half hour.
When you remove it, the balloons will be shriveled.

Gently squeeze the the balloon until it separates from the top of the bowl.  Pop the balloon (I just cut off the top.)  Gently remove the balloon from the bowl, working it away from the bowl a little at a time.  Once removed, fill with whatever treat you choose!
