Are you guys ready for a super easy Halloween decoration? Well I have one for you!
Super Easy Outdoor Spiderwebs
Now, don't let the name fool you into thinking these can only go outdoors.
They can go just about anywhere you want to put them. Outdoors, indoors, on your porch, between trees.
Wherever you think a giant spiderweb should go. And all you need is yarn!
(okay, maybe some tape or paperclips. But mostly just yarn)

I originally saw this at Made. (which is an awesome blog for sewing if you are looking for one)
I pretty much stuck with her design with only a few alterations.

So first pick a location. It can be flat against a wall or strung across a corner. Then pick out some yarn. Do not think you have to stick with grey or white! Don't be afraid of color. Dana at Made used an awesome fuchsia. I used green because it was what I had on hand. There are no rules when it comes to color.
Now, you want to make an X with the yarn across the area you want the web to go.
To attach the ends of the yarn is up to you and the set up of your location. If you aren't worried about paint being removed, you can use duct tape or packing tape. Or if it's in the right place, just tie it to whatever it can be tied to in the area. I did mine on the porch and there wasn't anything to attach to, so I bent a paperclip and made a hook. (Don't look at my dirty porch roof. You looked, didn't you?)
Once you have your X, stretch another length of yarn across the middle of the X. This doesn't have to be on the same plain. I think it gives the web a cool 3D look if this middle yarn is bent. At this point, you can do more web strings. I didn't simply because I was running out of places to attach them.
Now, tie the end of your yarn around the middle of the web, tying all the lengths together.
Cut the yarn at about several feet. You want enough to wrap around a few strings, but not so much that it tangles. Starting at the middle, wrap the yarn around the web in a spiral pattern. When you reach a string, tie a knot around it with your spiral. Keep spiraling until you can't reach the next strand. Tie that strand off.
Start another several feet of yarn and double knot it right where you left off.
Continue around. Keep doing this until your web is as big as you want it.

Clip off any dangling ends and your done! Now you can add some fun spiders or whatever you want on your web. Just simply tie them on. Make any adjustments you want to, sliding the knots up or down on the string.
And there you go! Make as many as you want wherever you want! They are fun and addictive!
